What is kinesiology?

Kinesiology is the study of human movement. A Registered Kinesiologist is a regulated health profession in Ontario that uses movement/exercise as medicine. Why is Kinesiology important in personal training?

An R.Kin looks at your MOVEMENT as a whole. You are a whole human with a vast history of movement that has lead you to where you are today. You probably want to keep moving pain free so that you can recover faster from your workouts and from injuries and get back to the trainings, sports and activities that you love to do. An R.Kin is important to make sure that you’re focusing on you and working on the little things throughout your day that can make or break your training. An R.Kin will keep you moving in your life so that you can be your best self in the gym, on the field or any activity that you need to do move to do. Additionally, kinesiology is proven to help patients recover faster from injuries if used prior to surgery, can help you recover faster from injuries by getting you moving sooner and better than before and can educate you on how your body moves now, what it needs to move better and help direct you to the appropriate professionals to get the well rounded care that you need to be your best and most consistent self. You don’t need to limit yourself because you’re in pain. You can find your potential for movement now to improve your recovery and protect you for the future.

How Kinesiology can help you reach your  goals

Whether you sit a lot at work, or exercise infrequently, or you’re new to exercise or movement, your body has been moving and changing different for years and an R.Kin can help correct a lot of movement patterns and IDENTIFY risks of injury to keep you safe and moving better so that you can make the most out of your training sessions and keep you moving towards your goals instead of falling behind.

Additionally, as an athlete, avid gym goer or active individual, an R.Kin can help prevent injury, improve your performance, rehabilitate injuries and provide education on exercise planning, programming and movement strategies.
